Microphone audio

The mic test and the decibel meter ask for access to your microphone only after you press their start button. The audio is processed only in your browser, on your own device, to draw the level meter, waveform and decibel reading. It is never recorded to a server, never uploaded and never sent to us or to anyone else.

The optional "Record 5 seconds" feature keeps the recording only in your browser tab's memory so you can play it back. It is not saved to disk and is discarded when you record again, reload or close the page. The microphone is switched off when you press Stop, leave the page or switch to another tab.

The names of your audio devices are shown on the page so you can pick one. They are not stored or transmitted.

Settings

The decibel meter's calibration offset is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device, so it is still set next time. It is never sent to us. You can delete it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
